After a long break, we are once again organizing a meeting on the history of astronomy, the main topic of which is the world of stars, and more specifically star maps and celestial spheres. Star Mapping Then and Now, and Star Map Users Then and Now. Our meeting place is the Astronomy Institute of HUN-REN CSFK (Detre László Room). At the ceremony, we celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the former director of the institute. About the leading figure in 19th century Hungarian astronomy, László Détre, who died half a century ago, and also about Gideon Rocca, an excellent publicist who also died 50 years ago.

During the meeting, we will see the rare map of the CSFK Library, and of course the recently restored Reimer Orb. More publications, documents and maps related to the meeting can be found here.
