Zelensky has lost popularity, and he already knows it

Mihail Podoliak, an advisor to the Ukrainian presidential office, spoke frankly about how to do this Ukraine cannot rely on the “second front” that the Western allies are opening against Russia. This statement indicates that Kiev is forced to reevaluate its strategy and expectations regarding the future course of the conflict. says the Russian site Lenta.ru.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky earlier urged NATO to at least invite Ukraine to join the alliance. The Ukrainian leader stressed that his country's position must be strengthened now, “not after the conflict, and not after ten or thirty years.” However, it appears that many NATO member states remain skeptical about Ukraine's accession.

According to Western media reports, Kiev may also be willing to make territorial concessions. The Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera claims that Zelensky will accept a ceasefire along the current front line if he receives in return a guarantee of Ukraine's rapid accession to the European Union. The Financial Times also reported that the mood in Washington and some Western capitals had changed, partly due to the escalating situation in the Middle East.

Ukraine continues to demand that its Western partners increase arms shipments, often citing Israel as an example. Zelensky cited NATO's hesitation as the main reason for “security gaps in Ukrainian skies.” But the US Department of Defense confirmed that the destruction of Russian missiles over Ukraine would be considered direct interference in the conflict.

The Pentagon acknowledged that US military aid supplies are not unlimited, and that parallel Israeli and Ukrainian support is putting pressure on the supply system. Sabrina Singh, deputy spokeswoman for the Pentagon, emphasized that the two conflicts are of a different nature, and US commitments are also different in the case of Israel and Ukraine.

According to the Special Representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Rodion Mirosnyk, the US decision to provide Israel with an air defense system is “another slap in the face” for Zelensky, who is still waiting for similar support, Lenta said. Analyze it.
