Among many other things, Samsung is already developing the Galaxy A36, which will replace the Galaxy A35 that debuted in March when it was released. An employee of the South Korean manufacturer recently tested a prototype of the device, which was running Android 15 during the measurements.
The fact that the Galaxy A36 phone we tested ran Android 15 is a big number that Google only released on its Pixel devices the other day, and Samsung will start distributing it in January at the earliest, after announcing the flagship Galaxy S25 phones. .
From this, we can easily conclude that the Samsung Galaxy A36 will only be released after all this, but already with Android 15 on board. At least that's what the fact that they're testing the prototype with this release suggests.
Given that the recently unveiled lower-end Galaxy A16 5G will receive six major Android updates, the Galaxy A36 should also receive similar software support. And if you're going to be using Android 15 from the beginning, that could mean Android 21 is on the way.
The Samsung Galaxy A36 will likely be powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 or Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, based on the graphics controller detailed in the test sheet. Inside the prototype recently tested in the Geekbench database, the chipset is complemented by 6GB of RAM, but several configurations could be added to the board when it is released. The Galaxy A35 debuted with an Exynos 1380 processor, but the successor will come with a Qualcomm chip instead of internally developed hardware, which is quite a surprising change on Samsung's part.
