According to data from the Road Safety Council of the Council of Europe, 76 people died on the roads in Serbia last year, and thus the country ranks third in Europe in terms of the number of traffic deaths per million inhabitants.

At the top of the list is Bulgaria, where the number of deaths reached 82 per million people, while 81 people lost their lives in traffic accidents in Romania.

Although Serbia ranks third on the list, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the number of fatal accidents in the country has decreased over the past decade. • Driving under the influence of alcohol (11 percent),
  • Lack of experience (9 percent)
