In September, Google announced the “Listen Page” feature for Android Chrome, which allows you to listen to text displayed on websites. However, until now, it had a painful flaw: if the browser was not in the foreground, that is, the user opened another application during operation, it simply stopped.
The only exception was when the device's screen was locked with Chrome on top.
Since while listening to a website, it is not justified for the selected page to be in front of someone all the time, it would make sense for this function if it could also be running in the background – while the user is clicking on some other application.
Google's decision-makers have realized this as well, and in version 130 of the Android Chrome browser, background playback is already available, according to 9to5Google. hvg.hu.
After the update, you can actually listen to the pages during any activity; A player will appear in your notification bar, similar to the podcast app bar. Some controls are also available here, for example, you can skip forward or backward for 10 seconds, or pause playback.
