OnePlus has announced the latest version of its Android interface, OxygenOS 15, built on top of Android 15. The first public beta of OxygenOS 15 will be released on October 30 for OnePlus 12 users. The stable version is expected to arrive at the end of November.
According to the manufacturer, the new interface is considered an important update, and its focus is on speed, design, and of course, artificial intelligence functions. There's parallel processing, for example, which provides users with improved animation interactions and promises a smooth experience on the OnePlus 12 even under heavy load. The company claims that OxygenOS 15 will take up 20% less storage space than OxygenOS 14 when the OnePlus 12 is released.
It's all about AI these days, so it's no wonder OnePlus has highlighted features like AI Detail Boost, which can turn low-resolution or cropped photos into stunning 4K images in seconds. If this holds up, it's a really cool feature. This option will be integrated into your factory photo album.
It's easy to guess the purpose of AI Unblur if you know English: it can make blurry details clearer. AI Reflection removes reflections from images. In the smart sidebar, we will find the option called AI Response. It can interpret conversations and create context-sensitive responses for us if we don't want to pay attention to them.
Smart Search presents itself, this option optimizes on-device search with artificial intelligence. Of course, Circle Search is also present in the OxygenOS 15 lineup, and Google Assistant will indeed be replaced by Gemini on the OnePlus 13 when it releases. With Scan Pass, you can quickly scan paper or digital boarding passes. AI Note is capable of formatting text content, expanding it, summarizing it online, and generally ensuring that notes are well organized and well-developed, and the app can be controlled via voice control.
The new software also includes new boot animations, new icons, and more fingerprint unlock patterns. OnePlus has also added new Shimmering Effects and Gaussian Blur effects to the software; According to them, these create a natural and harmonious visual experience – although it is not yet clear what exactly all this means. The Settings menu, notification bar, and Control Center are also cleaner than ever. An interesting feature is Share with iPhone, which allows you to easily transfer files to Apple smartphones. In addition to all this, OxygenOS 15 also receives the anti-theft functions announced by Google.
