Not April Fool’s Day: There may be a shortage of ketchup in the US!

Many Americans were shocked when they ordered ketchup in addition to ordering shipped food, and it didn’t arrive. The Wall Street Journal said the country, of 328 million, is threatened by a shortage of ketchup.

The increased demand for ketchup has affected the bag prices, which have increased by 13 percent since January 2020. ‘

I mentioned the Online edition of The Wall Street Journal.

In the home of various types of sugary sauces and dips with artificial sweeteners, the situation has deteriorated to the point that unbranded ketchup is poured into cups in supermarkets and sold to shoppers.

Kraft-Heinz, which makes 63 percent of the ketchup retail in the United States, is also having trouble meeting the soaring demand.

People liking the Heinz variant ketchup is no accident, as they have increased the amount of vinegar in their recipes (which is also used as a preservative and flavor enhancer), resulting in a fresh tomato flavor.

Due to the coronavirus epidemic, Americans have also adapted to staying away: they spend more time indoors, and as a result, the amount of food delivered to their homes has also increased dramatically.

Since the virus situation has not ended even in the United States, it is not yet known what will be lacking for the people living there, the Wall Street Journal writes.
