A 13-year-old boy set a Tetris record that shouldn't exist

This is the evidence

The popular gaming community has been turned upside down: A few days ago, a 13-year-old “pulled” Tetris in 40 minutes.

There is hardly any popular computer game that still has as many fans as Tetris. In a previous Techbook article, an expert claimed that this game is not over yet. In light of all this, professional and fan sites have exploded, because A 13-year-old boy has achieved a record previously thought impossible in the game Tetris.

He played the classic game of Tetris

The game was released in the 90s, which is why it is surprising that the teenager played this old version so enthusiastically. New versions of Tetris have also been produced since then, including a more modern version. The young Willis Gibson, who played Tetris under the name Blue Scuti, also played the well-known Nintendo version, which is basically completely unplayable, because the ending is simply not scripted. The creators did not consider this necessary at that time. After all, the game becomes more difficult from one level to the next – so most players fail long before the game reaches its technical limit.

On December 21, 2023, Blue Scotty sat in front of his console with particular ambition.

The 13-year-old reached level 157 in just 40 minutes, hence the condition known as the “kill screen”: the game crashes, and a technical shutdown practically occurs. Willis captured his amazing feat and posted it on YouTube. There is already evidence of this:

Of course, it cannot be ruled out that other players have managed to reach this point in the time that has passed since Tetris has existed. But no one has captured it on video yet.
