A community center is being built in Technikum

You need a place where people can come together, where they can sit down to talk and plan, have fun, or just play. We need a space that contributes to creating and strengthening community. We need specific services for the residents of the area.

You need a welcoming and caring place

Zsolt Szabó, representative of electoral district 6, dreamed of building community and was the first in the city to install the community space on Munkácsy Street. The actor has now moved on and, as previously promised, has begun building a community center on Esze Tamás Street:

Donaigváros is home to more than forty thousand people. Young and old, old and young, who were born here, who went to university here, who found a home here, they all live here with us, in the heart of Veger County and Hungary. The city administration is working to create a livable, family-friendly and inclusive community, where it is good to be young and good to grow old. In the past five years, we have adopted and implemented countless proposals that benefit the elderly, but the same applies to young people, and we have not forgotten to support them.

Regardless of age group: the house of generations

Perhaps it is the older age group that still communicates with each other in a classic way, there are no digital devices, they just talk and care about each other. For example, a place where this can be done, which is enriched with different programs, is also a good place for this. If the community center is working well, young people can also find programs for themselves. According to Zsolt Szabó, there would be a solution to this:

Today, this duality is converging, with the support of different generations, and is taking a material form. It gives me great pleasure to announce that we are launching the Generáció Háza project in Donajváros, in electoral district No. 6, in Munkácsy utca, where both elderly and young people can find entertainment programs for them. The space will provide an excellent opportunity to organize numerous programs and create a safe environment where young people can spend their free time after school. Seniors will also be able to find programs and events suitable for them, which will provide them with excellent social time. Our unspoken goal is to create a real connection between the people of Donajváros, both with their generation and through mingling among them. A relationship that over time can become a bond, the foundation of a stronger, more solidary community. We are confident that the Generations Council will take Donajváros further on the path to creating a livable, youth- and senior-friendly city for all.
