A very wild preview has appeared on Apogee Entertainment’s YouTube channel, to announce their upcoming game, Turbo Overkill Bubbler. It is going to be a very retro looking FPS game inspired by the second tier movies in which we are going to smash the streets of cyberpunk city.
The protagonist of the game is Johnny Turbo (I’m not kidding) who wants to right his past mistakes, so he returns to his hometown, Paradise, which is controlled by a dense artificial intelligence, Sen. Johnny and I are trying to eliminate this MI, but rival bounty hunters are also chasing the same game.
In terms of gameplay, Turbo Overkill reminds us of the classics of the 90s, which is no coincidence because its creator is the author of the horror game Doom II, Total Chaos. He was also helped by 3D Realms co-founder Scott Miller, who was present in creating games like Wolfenstein 3D, Rise of the Triad, Duke Nukem 3D, Max Payne and Prey. Accordingly, Turbo Overkill will be a fast up-and-down shooting range where you will be able to run against a wall and ride a hook rope. But it will also have a flying car in it to hit enemies, and Johnny has a working circular saw in one of his legs that we can use to grind everyone well. The graphics look charmingly old, especially in terms of animation and character models, but the lighting effects and colors are attractive. And classic guitar smash music isn’t bad either.
There is no release date for Turbo Overkill, though steamen It says “SOON™” will arrive. In addition to PC, it will also be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One.
