As FromSoftware’s relentless innovations are on the rise, there have been some games that have tried to re-try Dark Souls and others but weren’t really born that have managed to come close to perfect IP quality. But Lies of P, which was announced in the spring, did indeed look like a very promising attempt based on its first preview, and that sentiment was further reinforced by the gameplay preview, which was released for the game last night.
The new video shows a very hostile city where we have to deal with horribly ugly mechanical enemies. The game has a very strong atmosphere, the movement of enemies in the pieces is especially impressive, and the game of balls that took place in the 19th century. It brings to life the style of the late Belle Époque period. The Pinocchio we’re controlling is a mechanical creature in his own right, so he can replace parts of his body, giving him all kinds of abilities, like a flamethrower or a hook rope to lure his opponents into himself. The combat feels fast-paced, which is why (and of course the urban environment) is more reminiscent of Bloodborne than Dark Souls.
a steamJudging by his description, the greatest specialization of Lies of P will be that it will be possible to complete “procedural” tasks in them, during which we can lie. And what we lie will affect the end of the story. In addition, it seems interesting that by combining weapons we will be able to create new ones, which are worth trying.
Lies of P will be released sometime in 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S (even in the cloud), and Google Stadium.
