Referring to his sources, Pu claims that instead of Apple’s own modem, the iPhone 16 Pro phones will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon In addition, the Pro models will be able to connect according to the Wi-Fi 7 standard, reaching speeds of up to 46 Gbps. 8GB of RAM will reportedly remain in next year’s Pro models, and the A18 Pro chip will be manufactured on TSMC’s 3nm contract in the same way as the A17 Pro was introduced this year.
The latter may enter base models next year, but likely only as the A17, with slightly lower performance but still with 8GB of memory. Support for the Wi-Fi 6E standard may arrive on the regular iPhone 16, but a 5G modem is not said to have been touched.
