In Hungary, Auchan saved and donated nearly 1,000 tons of food in its 24 stores in 2022 to charitable organizations worth 291,020,000 Hungarian forints, equivalent to the weight of approximately 805 cars. In this way, they contributed to feeding 10,000 needy people daily. In addition, ten Auchan stores currently support animal shelters, and in 2022, 350,253 kg of products no longer suitable for human consumption were donated. Another goal of Auchan is to establish cooperation where possible with establishments located in the store catchment area, which can benefit more from food items that are removed from retail, but can still be used.
