After several locomotives, we finally get a live adaptation of The Last of Us in the series, courtesy of HBO, Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) and Neil Druckman (creator of the games). We already know that Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey will play the main roles, and Season 1 will mainly reveal the plot and characters of the 2013 video game The Last of Us, as it dominated some of the characters and motifs from the second part of last year. In the multimedia festival named SXSW 2021, which was held recently, Cannes IGN America He did an interview with Neil Druckman, who spoke in more detail about the direction of the series, and based on that, it doesn’t look like Abby will be appearing in the first stage either.

The author said that he and Mazen sought to be loyal to The Last of Us philosophy during the modification This means that the game’s plot and motifs are not transferred as bondage to a serial format, which means that the character, for example, will not be wearing the type of clothing we saw in TLU. So the main writers try not to get lost in such details and instead strive to make the series dramatically coherent and true to matter.

Neil Druckman said that there will be dialogues that will be recognized by fans of the game because they take over one by one from The Last of Us 2013. But there will also be dialogues and scenes in the series that are very different from the original plot, where not everything works well in the middle. Which assumes a negative (physical rather than mental) symptom, which works well in interactive video games.

You can guess what Druckmann meant by that, but fortunately he himself gave the example: the game is primarily geared and contains mechanics that must be taught to players when they encounter it for the first time. Obviously, these are going to be totally paralyzed in the TV series, and the series shouldn’t be all about continuous action. Therefore, the necessary changes were needed. Therefore, we prefer to see the parts of the series that pushed the plot forward in the game as well, that is, it tells a story and you do not have to photograph or move the landmarks in it. This, in turn, will only benefit character building and drama, which is the series’ coordination strength, and the strength of the series lies in this. According to Neil Druckmann, it’s just become a completely different game, something new, and he can’t wait to see it.

Oh, and one more thing: “I just saw my first action test with Clickers, and it was amazing! It’s a terrifying experience seeing these creatures come to life,” Druckmann shocked us. Sure, if they do well with these rusty and very dangerous mutations created by a fungal infection, the zombies in The Walking Dead can hide!

The Last of Us series is set to start on HBO in 2021. Although we haven’t got official video material in which to see the heroes yet, this deep fake video will roughly go like this.

In any case, it is clear that Neil Druckman’s statement does not rule out the introduction of Abby in one of the episodes, but it is very clear from her words that regardless of some necessary changes, the series will closely follow the first part, with only Abby’s father. In the end, after that we didn’t even know who he was.
