We may not always feel completely safe in a hotel room. Tips from a flight attendant can help with this.
We've already written up some tips and experiences for CiCi, who works as a flight attendant. He travels a lot for his job and is always subject to security procedures when he stays in a hotel, especially when he first arrives.
In a TikTok video, he suggests “always count the number of doors in the hallway that lead to the nearest exit.” This can be useful in the event of a fire, if the corridor is “very dark or full of smoke” and the exit is not visible.
To make sure she's alone in her room, she also checks the bathroom, closet, and other places where someone might be hiding. He also revealed that he always buys a small towel from the bathroom,
Wrap it around the lock as an extra security measure to prevent break-ins. He then closes the latch with a hand towel, making it more difficult to open.
The hostess is careful to let strangers into his room. He advised that if someone knocked and said “cleaning lady” or “room service” when we didn't ask for anything, to call the front desk.
There's no doubt that flight attendants are having a tough time. They help with everything on board, from serving drinks and food to calming down nervous passengers, plus they can save our lives in an emergency. In other words, they know a secret or two, and that includes what you should never eat or drink while flying.
