Around 26,000 Aldi store workers will benefit from the increase, thanks to entry-level shop assistants in the M25 region also receiving £12.45 from 1 January 2023. Aldi is also raising the wages of thousands of logistics workers, with wages starting at £10.90 per month. The lowest, in line with the real living wage.
The new hourly wage from £11.00 is 15 per cent higher than it was a year ago, representing an investment of £81m in staff pay over the past 12 months, according to reports. Grocery Newspaper.

This makes Aldi the first UK supermarket to pay all shop assistants a minimum of £11 an hour, which is higher than the real living wage recommended by the Living Wage Foundation.”
Discount Grocery is the only supermarket to offer paid breaks, giving the average shop worker an extra £871 a year.
Aldi has more than 970 stores in the UK, where it employs more than 40,000 workers.
