Already in 2019, Lotus announced the construction of an electric super sports car called the Evija. Since then, the car has received a mysterious, race-tuned design, which we still know little about, but now a lap of the Nürburgring has been thrown in, which speaks volumes about its capabilities.
The machine, officially named the Evija This is not an official value yet, but the lap time of 6:24.047 was not compiled by flies, so performance could be around 2000 hp.
This makes it the third fastest car ever to cross the Nordschleife, behind the Volkswagen ID number and the released Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo, although nothing threatens its record of 5:19.545 yet.
Lotus is very proud of the result because the basis of this car is a street car, and the carbon fiber passenger cell, four electric motors, 70 kWh battery and 800 volt drive system are also the same. That's right, the interior has been cleaned up, they've gotten rid of unnecessary things like the headlights, and slick Pirelli tires have been put on the rims. As well as reducing weight, advanced aerodynamics helped the record holder, as the huge rear wing got a DRS function, meaning that just like the F-1 cars, it could also be shifted to an optimized position for top speed.
Of course, many complete portfolios will be opened for this car, but Lotus has not yet planned production, and the only Evija
