Alonso’s sharp criticism: Formula 1 is too boring

The two-time world champion Spaniard has not been affected by the new era of Formula 1.

It was hoped that the new aerodynamic rules changes taking effect this year – which according to experts will bring about the biggest change ever in the sport – will reduce differences between teams and bring about a change of field, which will bring more excitement to Formula. 1. However, Fernando Alonso, who returned last year after a two-year absence, is not impressed:

“Unfortunately, F1 is still very predictable. It’s all about Red Bull and Ferrari. Only Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz Jr and Sergio Perez can win. There is no other sport in this case.”

On the other hand, the two-time world champion admits, that the races have become more fun due to the fact that it is possible to compete better with the cars of the new generation, but

“F1 is still very boring, but that is part of the sport. There will always be teams that are faster than others.”

Halfway through the season, Alonso is tenth in the drivers’ world standings, while his Alpine team is fifth in the constructors’ standings, but behind the trio of Red Bull, Mercedes and Ferrari, fourth place looks very realistic:
