Writes Watchman. It is not enough that they have been learning digitally for the past couple of years, but even in their spare time they are stuck in the virtual world. At first, they were forced to do so due to restrictions, but their dependence on games and apps has continued. Digitalization has attracted teens and even adults, but the trend is most striking in user habits for those aged six to ten. Among people aged 11-17, screen time increased by an average of 55 minutes. It was amazing, but even for the youngest of them, those under the age of five were spending an extra 35 minutes in technical equipment.
According to the scientists quoted by the newspaper, the trend is mainly in children’s health:
Their vision is severely deteriorated, and their cognitive abilities become obese and diminished
Many of them have been diagnosed with poor concentration, memory, irritability and other behavioral disturbances, and this has been linked to increased time spent in front of screens. There are also problems feeding children because the screen binds them while eating. Already at this age, insomnia caused by lights and noises can cast a shadow over their daily lives. Researchers say mental health also suffers from this process
More and more children are suffering from loneliness and depression. Millions of children can be affected around the world.
The study was based on a sample of 200,000 people and incorporated 89 previous studies into its findings. The focus was on the United States, but professional material from Australia, the United Kingdom, France, Chile and Israel also contributed to the conclusion.
