An ambitious remake of Fallout 2 [VIDEO]

An ambitious remake of Fallout 2 [VIDEO]

It's not a completely 1:1 reimagined game, because the Fallout II remake uses a different perspective and has a lot more developers.

Project Arroyo is the name given to the new version of Fallout 2, which will have an interior view and, according to project manager Damion DaPonte, is moving at a very fast pace towards completion. In an interview with The Gamer, Daponte talked about what platforms might appear on PC and what he thinks about potential Steam Deck support.

“I'm tempted to do what Enderal: Forgotten Stories did (modifying The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for a similar purpose) and put it on Steam. It's just a platform that everyone has. Easier to access, easier to update, easier to install. It's simply more efficient. To discover a [Steam] All of its features are such that Fallout 2, Fallout 4, and all DLC are required [mod] To obtain and ensure that there are no legal problems. But we'll see, because we're still investigating. Personally, I'm leaning towards Steam as well. Deck support? Maybe, we'll see. To be honest, I don't even know if mods work well on Steam Deck. “I have to ask my friends,” DaPonte said.

It is also worth checking the Twitter and Reddit of the Arroyo project, because in the former you can see several concept images of the Fallout 2 remake with an interior view, and in the latter you can follow the development of the remake. In any case, it's impressive how skillfully the developers are translating the dark atmosphere into 3D, although there's no release date yet, and who knows how long we'll have to wait. They may also have been delayed due to the sudden release of Fallout 4's next-gen update (Fallout: London also had a similar experience, and we already reported on that).

In the video embedded below, we get a great comparison between what Fallout 2's original looks like and what Project Arroyo looks like. This alone makes the project exciting, but who knows how long it will take?
