Firefighters battle massive flames in the Elephant and Castle district of London, an area covered in a huge cloud of smoke.
According to the first reports, the explosion and the resulting fire broke out in a commercial unit near the Elephant & Castle tube station in London, under railway arches, for reasons unknown at this time – Writes the news. Authorities said the fire that broke out in the basement of the train station adjacent to the metro line may have caused damage to three shops, four cars and a phone booth so far. After the station was evacuated, the police cordoned off the area. Southwark police say the fire cannot be linked to terrorism.
