In the discussion on the creation of the European Platform for Strategic Technologies (STEP), András Gjork said: STEP does not contribute to solving the economic crisis situation caused by Brussels’ wrong industrial strategy and irresponsible budget policy, therefore the EU parliamentary group Fidesz does not support this initiative.
According to the politician, the European economy is going through a serious crisis. “Industrial production has fallen by 5 percent in one year, competitiveness has been destroyed, and forecasts predict stagnation or stagnation. Responsibility for this situation lies primarily with the European Commission. What we are seeing now is the result of Brussels’ industrial policy, which is based on “Sanctions, unrealistic green targets and increasing bureaucracy.”
András Gjork believes that STEP is an attempt to continue on this wrong path. “The real solution to the crisis will require, first and foremost, change in Brussels. We hope that this will happen next June at the latest.”
“It has become clear that the EU budget situation is worrying,” said Andor Djeli, a Fidesz MEP. “In order to maintain solvency, the European Commission is requesting new payments from member states, while Hungarians’ funds are being withheld due to political pressures.”
According to the politician, “The European Commission must return to the policy of mutual respect in order to find a solution regarding the European Union budget during the negotiations of the coming weeks.”
