Honor announced Magic OS 8.0 earlier this year in China. The UI is based on Android 14 and includes a large MagicLM language model, which works with 7 billion parameters. This is not only available for Magic 6 series devices, as the Chinese manufacturer also began updating its phones circulating globally, and the first to obtain the new system were Magic 5 Pro owners.
About a few days ago, Honor started updating its devices sold outside China to the new UI and Android 14 at the same time. Many users from different regions have made comments on Honor's Reddit forum that Magic OS 8.0 has arrived on their devices, so Magic 5 Pro owners can now enjoy the new software.
The new functions can be divided into 7 different categories. The new interface is sleek and fluid, while the home screen is filled with Magic Capsule and quick services, which have been missing from MagicOS releases since the brand's split from parent company Huawei.
Magic OS 8 users will be able to edit media content more easily and extend battery life with ultra-long-lasting power saving mode. The new program also includes some security features such as Parallel Space, a secure folder for various sensitive photos, applications and videos.
