Diaghilev Air Base in Russia, Ryazan Oblast, is about 140 kilometers away as the crow flies from Moscow. It previously served as a training center for the Russian Strategic Bomber Force, and according to reports, strategic bombers are currently stationed at the air base. The air base is located 450 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, so the possibility that the air base was a victim of a Ukrainian missile attack can be ruled out.
Previously, a fuel truck caught fire as a result of an explosion. According to preliminary information, nine people were injured, three of whom died

The state’s official report says one plane was damaged, but some reports say four. Several TU-95 strategic bombers were transferred to the Dagilevu air base at the end of November. The base is also home to Il-78/M tanker aircraft. Earlier, there was also a report that the Engels 2 Air Base, which also houses strategic bombers and cruise missile launch stations, was also affected by the explosion.
