Former Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas has admitted he would like to join IndyCar after his Formula One career.
The Finn explained that his time in Formula 1 was not over yet, but he told the Kevin Clarke podcast how he is very much enjoying his time in the States.
“I love the feel and the atmosphere. The experience is very good. I feel like the regulators in the US really know how to entertain people“- Tell potash.
“I definitely still have a few years left in Formula 1, that’s for sure. I still feel like I have something to give to the sport.“
Bottas with Daniel Ricciardo in contrast would like to qualify for IndyCar.
“IndyCar is a lot of fun, but we’ll see. I don’t have to think about it much yet, but sooner or later I will.“
“The racetracks are beautiful, the race looks very real, and as far as I know, [ott] A little less politics than in F1. Yes, the series seems to be getting more and more popular these days.“
Formula 1’s growth has also benefited other racing categories, with the growing popularity of IndyCar being one of the great examples of this positive trend.
Marcus Ericcson made a successful transition from F1 to IndyCar, so it seems plausible that Bottas could have a huge success if he moved to the States.
However, a possible Sauber acquisition by Audi means that an exciting project awaits Bottas in F1, so only time will tell if he is sufficiently drawn to American expectations.
