A very special one reconnaissance Determine the average intelligence quotient, i.e. IQ, for those who prefer some video games. Data was collected using a questionnaire filled out by 1,002 players. Psychologists contributed to the compilation and evaluation of the tasks, which means that there is no need for further research from a well-founded scientific background. Participants completed an intelligence test using the Internet and had to demonstrate their abilities in different areas: verbal communication, mathematics, logic and visual deductions.
Participants had to identify the video game they spent the most time playing in their free time. This does not mean at all that there is a tangible relationship between someone playing Overwatch 2 and having an exceptionally high IQ. It also cannot be determined that someone chose Counter-Strike because they have higher intelligence than another person. Regardless, those who connect with League of Legends, the world's most popular esports game, can stroke their egos a little. At the bottom of the list are Rocket League and EA Sports FC 24 / FIFA 23, both of which share the need to get a football into the goal in one way or another.
In the same research, they asked about the platform on which players score goals, shoot down enemy monsters, or shoot teammates. There's nothing surprising about the PC dominance, given that the previously mentioned League of Legends doesn't have a console port.
When comparing women and men, their IQ is 2.1 points higher on average.
