Arpad Potabi: After losing the twentieth century, we won the twenty-first century

The Minister of State for National Policy in the Prime Minister’s Office spoke about this in Toroko, Transylvania, on the occasion of the 8th Danube Day organized by Hungarian public media. The politician believed that the will of the great powers that dictated the Treaty of Trianon 102 years ago was not fulfilled.

“Here we are, we are Hungarian, and we are still the most in the Carpathian Basin, and we want to win the 21st century after the lost 20th century,” he said. The politician thanked those who participated in the Hungarian parliamentary elections in Transylvania, as well as those who founded Danube Television thirty years ago, which for decades proved to be one of the most important links between Hungarians at home and abroad.

He pointed out that 345,000 people attended the farewell ceremony in Chicsumlu on the Day of National Unity. It was believed that a person who was once affected by the spirit of Csíksomlyó would have a year from Pentecost to Pentecost.

In his speech, Minehurt Dubos, CEO of Duna Médiaszolgáltató Zrt.

Márton Csécs, a Unitarian priest from Torockó, and Archbishop of the Unitarian Church of Cluj-Napoca, mentioned Torockó’s blacksmithing traditions in connection with Nation Day. Referring to the fact that after the visit of the President of the Republic, Catalin Novak, the upper stone of the Sequile stone near Toroko was painted in the national colors of Romania, the name of the massif high above the village indicates that the place belongs to the Hungarian community.

Szilárd Deák Székely, Mayor of Torockó, stressed that it gives strength to Toroko which can be a venue for such events, as was the Danube Day which was held for the eighth time.

Annamari Dancs, the band Kormorán and Miklós Varga as well as Magna Cum Laude gave a concert on the stage held in the center of the village during Danube Day.
