In recent months, Don Betette, the pioneer of the International Space Station, has presented unusual snapshots of the Earth and space. For example, we can see how the stars shine in the background of the Earth, as well as how the polar light revolves under the feet of astronauts.
But he also presented a great picture of The Milky Way, which he also shared on the Instagram page. The image does not focus on the ground, but on space, so that you can see the stars, dawn in the atmosphere of the Earth, and the sunlight on which satellites are reflected. We wrote more about this here.
The recordings that Pettit shared amazing so far, and the astronaut always comes with something special. This was not different recently: this time showed the milky road behind the Earth’s horizon. Take the image from the International Space Station, which was about 426 km above the Pacific Ocean on January 29.
The registration was taken immediately before sunrise, so the area near the Earth Station was still dark. Photo background is the milk wire system, and since the edge of the galaxy is visible, the image is made from a parallel perspective of the country – stabbed HVG.
