Asylum seekers due to be detained in Rwanda begin detention in Great Britain

Police in Scotland have been put on high alert due to the high risk of street protests.

The British Home Office will on Monday begin detaining asylum seekers who intend to be deported to Rwanda. He writes Watchman. According to the newspaper, the process will begin weeks before the expected date.

Authorities plan to detain asylum seekers who routinely appear at immigration offices, and will detain people across the country in a random operation for two weeks.

According to lawyers and human rights activists, these arrests, in addition to protracted legal battles, could lead to social protests and even clashes with the police.

The Home Office said that at some stage in the process it was inevitable that people would be detained in preparation for the first flight to Rwanda in 10 to 12 weeks. But they added that it would not be appropriate to comment further on practical activity.
