Babylon’s Fall producer and Final Fantasy XIV director spoke publicly to the audience after a discussion between players
The fall of Babylon has been the subject of controversy since its launch, with the new Platinum Games title receiving a torrent of cuts on YouTube after its June reveal, something the game makers acknowledged and promised to improve in some of its most criticized aspects.
However, the game has not been without controversy, the most recent of which relates to a number of development tools in the last beta that fans quickly identified. Players primarily pointed out some gear that was found to be nearly identical to the other pieces in Final Fantasy XIV.
The prospect of some of these resources entering Babylon’s downfall through “overexertion” raised a great deal of dust among players and created a controversy that was soon stifled by Square Enix. “Yes, Babylon’s Fall includes symbols and gear taken from Final Fantasy XIV. By borrowing resources, we’ve been able to incorporate a wider range of equipment and emotes into the game than we originally planned.Explained by Yosuke Saito, producer of The Fall of Babylon.
Final Fantasy XIV decided that the studio would also share the reasons for reusing the models. “Babylon’s Fall is a brand new title with new challenges so we can’t give it an unlimited budgetHappy Naoki Yoshida, Final Fantasy XIV producer and director. “Let’s also use FF XIV Tools. There is a lot of shame ReductionLimited to FF XIV only. “
Square Enix has ensured that these relocated elements receive subtle design changes and tweaks, overseen by the FF XIV team “to ensure they fit into their world.” Despite clearing up the misunderstanding, Square Enix and Platinum Games still have a lot of work to do in a game that isn’t very promising at the moment.
