Baldur's Gate III – Xbox players may lose progress

Larian Studios has had a strong year with Baldur's Gate III, but the Xbox version tends to make us forget our progress. Bug fixes are already being worked on, but it may take some time for a patch to become available.

The Xbox Series

Larian already knows about this and X is emphasizedThe error occurs when saving and exiting the game. This all happens due to a firmware issue that corrupts the save file. Microsoft is also aware of this and is already working on fixing the issue, but due to the holidays they are operating at reduced capacity, which means that “It may take some time until the correct patch is available“.

A temporary solution might be to activate the cross-save option, that is, link our Xbox and Larian accounts, which will automatically upload our last 5 saves to the cloud. Then turn off the cross-save option, so you can access the files in case an error occurs. The studio will be working to increase the size of uploaded saves in the coming days.

The team is fully aware that losing progress is frustrating and unacceptable, but they are doing their best to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and will keep everyone updated on developments.
