With the arrival of Android 15 Beta 3, the platform has entered a stabilization phase, allowing developers to test apps using final APIs.
Android 15 development has reached platform stability with the Beta 3 release, where APIs have been finalized and developers are now free to test their apps. Google plans to release another beta next month before we get the final version in the fall.
What's new in Beta 3
Beta 3 brought several exciting innovations to Android 15. One of the major improvements is the updated credentials provider with one-touch passkey UI that supports facial, fingerprint, or screen lock. This allows users of apps targeting Android 15 to log in with one tap, instead of the two-step process previously required.
The new Android 15 also introduced fallback UI options in case users accidentally reject the passkey request. The Autofill UI now supports password suggestions on supported keyboards and drop-down menus, enhancing user experience and security.
