In February 2022, BlizzConline will be delayed and it appears from the announcement – although not written – that it may not be BlizzCon again.

To the Blizzard community,
We have decided to stop preparations for BlizzConline scheduled for early next year and cancel the event. It was a difficult decision for all of us, but it was the right one.
For every BlizzCon event, it’s imperative that everyone in the company give their all and share with the community – which is very important to us – exactly what we’re working on. However, we now feel that this energy will be better spent supporting our teams and developing games.
We also want to rethink what the BlizzCon event will mean in the future. BlizzCon was first program 16 years ago, and a lot has changed since then – most notably how players and communities come together and how they can feel part of something bigger.
Whatever the shape of a future event, we need to make sure that it is safe and inclusive where everyone is welcome. We are committed to continuous communication with our players, and BlizzCon plays a big role in that. We’re excited about what such an event will look like in the future.
We want to make one more thing clear: even though there will be no BlizzConline in February 2022, we will continue to make announcements and release updates for our games. We are proud of our teams and what they have achieved in our matches. Lots of exciting news and new looks are waiting for you. Ads about different games will continue to arrive on our website and social media interfaces.
I’ll miss that we can’t see you, but don’t worry. We will be together again soon.
