Movie News – Netflix's upcoming Horizon Zero Dawn series based on the hit PlayStation game may have been cancelled, according to a new report…
Last week, Rolling Stone published a report on the “toxic” behavior of director Steve Blackman, who previously worked on The Umbrella Academy and is now working on Horizon Zero Dawn for Netflix, among others. At least a dozen employees made the allegations. The reports reached Rolling Stone, which then looked into them and discovered a great deal of controversy.
Blackman has categorically denied allegations that he was a manipulative bully on the set, but since the report surfaced, Rolling Stone has uncovered another sensation.
Because several of Blackman's projects, such as the Horizon Zero Dawn prequel series, have allegedly been blown up.
Can we hope for another Horizon Zero Dawn “remaster”?
A Horizon-based TV series has been on the table for a long time. The rich, engaging story and beautiful world of the game series are a great starting point. The perfect title for a live-action series adaptation. Netflix has also had the opportunity to develop it — so far.
According to Rolling Stone's Cheyenne Roundtree — who reported on Blackman's original story — everything related to the product, including Horizon Zero Dawn and Orbital, is now gone.
It is not known how far the team has come in producing the Horizon TV series. It is likely that development was still in a very early stage.
Sony is expected to continue producing the TV series with another partner, especially given the recent success of other live-action adaptations. We're mostly thinking here of the award-winning The Last of Us series, which broke records and became known as one of the best adaptations in history.
