The local community is trying to make the best possible use of Derelye’s house, which was given over in the summer. In recent months the people of Cernely have mostly prepared liberally for the programs organized in the district, and as the holidays approach, the members of the association have been baking bread.
On two occasions more than one house full of poppy-and-nut delicacies were served to those who had helped in their business throughout the year. However, in addition to baking and cooking together, personal relationships are also fostered, which further enhances the association working in Hegyhát.
A lot happened
We have finished a very busy and productive year – the leader of the traditionalists, Erzsébet Csorbáné Galambosi, summed up the period we left behind. – Derelye Festival and Homecoming Program succeeded. At least so was the meeting of the generations, where the science of making dirli was passed on to the young. In addition, we have represented the village and Hegyhát at many outdoor events in the region and abroad, trying to spread the good news of our delicacy everywhere.
They’ve been promoting and preserving HÍR’s commercial tradition of potato-stuffed syringe for years, and it’s paying off. At the same time, having Derelye’s house delivered in the summer was a big move, as most of the work can be done regardless of the weather. In addition, a small museum of local history has been set up, and the place in the center of the village is also suitable for conducting community programmes. However, neglect cases don’t want to stop here either, maybe only during the holidays. In 2023, with renewed vigor, they set about implementing the further plans that were formulated.
