The Briton put dramatically different cars on the starting line Carawao. The most interesting of the trio is the Jimny, the Silver, because it has a turbo. A supercharger was installed at the factory on the 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine, increasing maximum power to 165 hp and 195 Nm of torque. Another Suzuki all-terrain vehicle is the Jimny series, the engine used has a power of 102 hp, with this configuration the weight is 1035 kilos, the turbo version is only 55 kilos heavier.
The Peugeot 205 GTI, including the larger engine version, was brought in to compete with the two Japanese models. The 1.9 four-cylinder engine produces 128 hp, meaning the weight-to-horsepower ratio is almost the same as that of the turbocharged Jimny, although it is 161 Nm lower. The small French car is the lightest in the group, weighing only 860 kilograms.
After the start, it is clear that the naturally aspirated version cannot enter the competition, but the turbocharged Jimny gains an even greater advantage. Peugeot doesn’t give up, the Suzuki’s advantage quickly diminishes from mid-distance, and in the end the off-roader wins, but by only a few tenths of a second. In the rematch, the 205 team gets a better start, thanks to which it also wins, as does the French in the third round. On the final track, the field gets off to a fast start, which also favors Peugeot.
