Field Hockey Canada announces the nomination window for the Class of 2023
Field Hockey Canada is pleased to invite nominations for the incoming 2022 class of Hall of Fame Inductees. Please see below for nomination criteria. Visit our resources below for more information. Nominations are now open December 15, 2023.
The Field Hockey Hall of Fame in Canada was established in 2014 to honor those who have made a significant contribution to the sport of hockey in Canada. The Canadian Field Hockey Hall of Fame Committee was established by the FHC Board of Directors to lead the activities of the FHC Hall of Fame.

Nomination criteria
Nominations will be accepted in the Athlete, Coach, Official, Builder and Team categories.
All candidates:
- Must be a Canadian citizen or have lived in Canada for more than 25 years.
- Must demonstrate ideal values and personal characteristics.
- You must have made a distinctive contribution to the sport of field hockey and/or indoor hockey in Canada
In addition, candidates will be evaluated according to the criteria set for each category as follows:
Athlete
- He retired from international level for at least five years
- He achieved a great record of achievements on the field while playing for the Canadian national team
- Bringing honor and recognition to Canada on and off the field
- Play for Canada in the Olympic Games, World Cup, Pan American Games, Commonwealth Games or other high-level international competitions.
trainer
- Through dedicated efforts and experience over at least five years, the Canadian team’s performance has increased significantly in international competition.
- Recognized as a leader in the sport of hockey both internationally and domestically.
- Provide leadership for the development of high-performance coaches in Canada over a period of at least four years.
- He has coached Canadian teams at the Olympic Games, World Cup, Pan Am Games, Commonwealth Games or other high-level competitions.
Official
- Recognized for his experience as an outstanding referee or technical official at international level for more than five years
- Appointed as an official for at least 75 international matches including the Olympic Games, World Cup, Pan Am Games, Commonwealth Games or other high level competitions
- Provide strong leadership to the development of Canada’s senior international officers over a period of at least four years.
Constructor
- He has contributed significantly and extraordinarily to the growth and development of Canadian hockey over at least 10 years
- A creator may be active or inactive to be considered and will be evaluated based on contributions and influence.
a team
- To be nominated in the team category, a team must have achieved outstanding standing in a continental or world level competition relative to previous Canadian performance, thus making a specific contribution to the development of competitive hockey in Canada.
