Team Canada has qualified for the 2024 Davis Cup. On Saturday, Canada beat South Korea three games to one in the qualifying round at IGA Stadium in Montreal, Quebec.

The Canadian stars of the weekend are Gabriel Diallo of Montreal, Quebec and Vasek Pospisil of Vernon, British Columbia. In the singles competition on Friday, Diallo defeated Son Woo Kwon 6-4, 6-4, and Pospisil defeated Seung Chan Hong 6-4, 6-3. Then in the doubles match on Saturday, Ji Sung Nam and Min Kyu Sung beat Alexis Galarneau of Laval, Quebec and Pospisil 6-4, 6-7, 6-3. Diallo then won his second match of the weekend, qualifying by defeating Hong 7-5, 4-6, 6-1.

There were some tense moments in Diallo's win over Hong on Saturday. Diallo did not perform well when he found the net, and was noticeably more productive when he stayed on the baseline. Hong was able to utilize his speed better at the net, but he simply did not have the intensity or precision in his play when Diallo stayed back.

It is joined by the United States, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Italy, Spain, Czech Republic, Great Britain, Slovakia, Finland, France, Germany, and the United States. Holland.
