CATL introduced the first battery designed for hybrid cars, which enables a distance of 400 kilometers on a single electric charge. The Freevoy Super Hybrid will be used by Chinese electric car manufacturers such as Li Auto, Geely, Chery and others.
This innovation will soon be available in 30 hybrid models.
These new extended-range hybrids have larger battery packs than other hybrids and run almost exclusively on electricity. In the first nine months of this year, sales of this type of vehicle doubled compared to the same period in 2023, and Chinese manufacturers launched more than 10 new models this year.
As demand increases, CATL plans to make the new battery available to Chinese and possibly foreign automakers. The company ensures that the battery provides reliable performance even in cold weather.
