For many, Valtteri Bottas has been the biggest surprise of the first half of the 2022 Formula 1 season. This year, the Finn boosted the Alfa Romeo team instead of Mercedes and managed to score 46 points in the 13 races so far. However, the Swiss junior team has not been doing well lately and Bottas will surely change one thing because of this.

From 2017 until 2021, Bottas was able to race at the Brackley stable, experiencing the positive and negative effects of racing for a top team. Although being Lewis Hamilton’s teammate is not something to be grateful for at all, the Finn has used the experience he gained at Mercedes at Alfa Romeo, thanks to which he is in a much better position in both championships than in previous years.

However, despite the 46 points and sixth place for manufacturers, Bottas is still not entirely satisfied with the current situation. The 10-time race winner has nothing wrong with the work his team has done, but he believes he needs to take the next step in the upcoming races in order to rise to a new level.

“Recently we have not been doing well every weekend and we are fully aware of that” – He said Bottas, whose friend recently tried herself behind the wheel of a Formula One car. “We still have to work on this, because it would be a shame if we lose more points due to technical errors, it will not reflect well on our goals.”
