The Resident Evil 4 remake has received a mysterious new update on Steam. This may indicate that Capcom is making changes to the game prior to the potential announcement. Although Capcom hasn’t revealed any plans for DLC following the release of Mercenaries Mode, RE4 is still missing a Separate Ways scenario. Many fans enjoyed this in the original Nintendo GameCube title at the time.

In addition, the Steam version’s change count has been updated to reflect changes to files and resources in the Valve database. This specific update does not directly confirm that new DLC is coming. But ahead of Capcom’s presentation at Tokyo Game Show 2023 later this month, that could fuel speculation.

Resident Evil 4 received several Steam updates prior to the release of Mercenaries mode. These are freely available to all players. After the release of the free DLC, Capcom introduced a post-release update for RE4 with hidden achievements and rewards. This sparked further fan speculation about new DLC in the form of separate ways.

One of the main criticisms of the remake from fans of the original Resident Evil 4 is the exclusion of the Ada campaign.

Resident Evil 4: VR Mode is currently in development for PlayStation VR2. This new DLC will be free for PlayStation VR2 owners who also own the new PlayStation 5 version. The Resident Evil Village VR mode provided could be a useful setup for the die-hard fans. Capcom has yet to share any information about Resident Evil releases after the release of VR Mode. However, the upcoming Tokyo Game Show 2023 seems to be the perfect opportunity for Capcom to make some noteworthy announcements.
