David Beckham’s decade-long tax case has been resolved, so nothing can stand in the way of the former England football captain’s knighthood.

“In 2013, David was told he had only been ignored when he was nominated for a knighthood due to a tax failure. Now that this is clear, there is absolutely no reason not to receive the awardThe source said, also highlighting Beckham
According to The Sun, the father-of-four, who has raised around 50 million pounds (22 billion HUF) so far for charity, is last on the official list of recommendations, meaning he has been successfully vetted and qualifies for recognition.

It is now up to the Awards Committee to formally approve his nomination headed by Culture Minister Nadine Doris. Beckham was already awarded the OBE in 2003, and if he were knighted, he would be awarded the title of Sir David.
