Davis Cup: Great Britain tied with Argentina, Canada and Finland in the group stage. Host Italy faces Brazil

Great Britain will face Argentina, Canada and Finland in the group stage of the Davis Cup Finals.

The matches will be held in Manchester next September, after the AO Arena was confirmed as one of the four host stadiums for the event, which will be held from September 10 to September 14.

The top two teams in the group will qualify for the finals in Malaga in November.

Elsewhere, defending champion Italy will face Brazil, the Netherlands and Belgium at home in Bologna, while Zhuhai in China will host Germany, the United States, Chile and Slovakia.

In Valencia, Spain was drawn alongside Australia, France and the Czech Republic.

There could be some logistical issues for all players and countries involved, with matches scheduled to begin just days after the US Open concludes in New York.

So the likes of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, who played a pivotal role in leading Italy to the title last year, may have some big decisions to make if they are to have a deep run at Flushing Meadows.

Meanwhile, Great Britain will attempt to reach the final stage of the Davis Cup for the second year in a row.

Leon Smith was also at the helm when they won an emotional final against Belgium in 2015.

Team GB still has a formidable group of highly-rated male players, including Cameron Norrie, Jack Draper and Dan Evans, while doubles stars Neil Skupski and Joe Salisbury are both Grand Slam winners.

On the other hand, Canada currently only has one man, Felix Auger-Aliassime, in the top 100 singles players, as does Finland, Emil Ruusuvuori.

This means that the team's toughest task is likely to come against Argentina, who may be led by recent Chilean Open champion Sebastian Baez, who is ranked 19th in the world and one of seven players in the top 100.
