In the Valencia group, recent US Open champion and world number one Carlos Alcaraz beat Kwon Sun-woo of South Korea in two sets. Of the quartet, Canada also advanced.
The top two teams from each of the four groups qualified for the November quarter-finals in Malaga, where Australia, the Netherlands, Croatia, Spain, Italy, the United States, Germany and Canada will face off.
