Daycare centers in Debrecen were celebrated with a professional conference and award ceremony
Debrecen – April 21st is Nursery Schools Day. On Friday, six kindergarten teachers received awards.
The first nursery school in the country opened in Pest 171 years ago, on this day. Since 2010, the anniversary has been the official holiday for Hungarian nursery schools. The United County Wright City Nursery School in Debrecen organized a ceremony that was complemented by a series of lectures this year, where the Debrecen Children’s Nursery School Award was also presented.

This time, six kindergarten teachers were recognized. This year, for his outstanding professional work and human qualities, he was awarded the Debrecen Prize for Children’s Education
Erzibet Balog, Early Childhood Educator at Görgey utca day-care centre, Tünde Balogh-Nagy, Early Childhood educator at Honvéd utca day-care centre, Andrea Dobiné Besenyei, Head of Varga utca day-care centre, Marianna Filepné Bodnár, Early Childhood educator at Karács nursery center Gyorgy Utca, Bilani Nagy, DMJV Egyesitét Bölcődei Intésmény Deputy Director and Egyesitét Nagy, Nursery Egyesitét Áchim András utca.
Deputy Mayor Diana Zils thanked the teachers for their outstanding performance. More than 300 people practice this profession in 12 nurseries in the city.
“Those who work in our corporate systems, in the City of Care programme, really do everything they can to ensure that children are brought up in appropriate conditions and that they can develop or educate everyone at their level, according to their circumstances and development,” said Diana Celis.
