On September 29, Debrecen International School will also join the Scholars’ Night series of programmes. Four exciting 45-minute sessions are held for children and adults.
Discovery and play-based learning in kindergarten
The presentation is primarily interesting for kindergarten teachers, families and children aged 3-5 years. We invite little ones to play and explore different spaces and materials, while parents and teachers gain insight into research- and game-based learning in everyday life and at home. ISD teachers provide methods that provide knowledge that can later be used in many ways and places. The presentation is mainly conducted in Hungarian.
Story Workshop – Creative reading and developing text comprehension for young children
The show is interesting for primary school teachers, parents and children aged 6-11 years. Since our content consumption has changed dramatically in recent years, children’s reading and comprehension skills must also be reconsidered. Let’s make reading an experience again! An ISD first grade teacher created a presentation based on the latest research data: Participants will learn how to write a book in a playful way or use technology to create digital books and storyboards. This course is for anyone interested in making writing an engaging experience for children and anyone interested in research/play-based learning. There is also a great program for children: they will use recycled and natural materials to create stories through the magic of the Story Workshop.
3D printing and design on weekdays
The presentation is interesting for primary and secondary school teachers, parents and children aged 1-17 years. 3D printing has already become a part of our daily lives. How is 3D modeling used in design and how are products 3D printed? In addition to printing, participants will learn how the Makerspace initiative fosters collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. While printing, participants can learn about ISD teacher techniques that can later be implemented in a variety of ways and places.
Usable project management on weekdays
The presentation is mainly interesting for students between 14 and 20 years old. How can the idea be implemented effectively, purposefully and successfully? It took the tenth grade half a year to gain this knowledge and practice. It summarizes all the steps of project implementation in a way that is understandable and easy to use even in everyday life: One ISD student presents the magical transformation of our school garden, from creative idea, to detailed planning, to implementation.
The program is free, but registration is required. Apply to Night researchers on site maybe.
