Debrecen – The Center for Sports Diagnostic, Sports and Lifestyle Treatment (SET) of the University of Debrecen has launched a 12-week lifestyle program for those who want a healthier and fitter everyday life. Participants are instructed by a sports physician, professional coach, dietitian, and physiotherapist on how to exercise consciously and purposefully.
The SET Up program can be used by anyone from beginner to advanced who wants to lead a healthier lifestyle, lose weight, or even increase their athletic performance.
Those who usually want to protect themselves from harm from sedentary work or a stressful lifestyle, and want physical and mental recovery can also apply.
The goal is primarily to maintain, or achieve, fitness using the science and highly qualified professionals of SET, as well as modern diagnostic tools, said Okus Nagy, the Foundation’s chief operating officer, regarding the lifestyle program.
The 12-week program begins with a complex mathematical diagnostic evaluation.
– We conduct a spirometry test with the patient, where we can identify zones of exercise intensity and heart rate zones for maximum fat burning. The initial assessment also includes a body composition test, with the help of which we obtain information about the individual’s muscle mass and percentage of body fat – the operational manager has detailed the initial steps.
Based on the results analyzed in writing, a realistic goal to be achieved by the end of the program is determined with the help of a physician, specialist trainer, physiotherapist and dietitian, and the patient receives an exercise plan accordingly. As part of the joint work, the applicant also participates in physical therapy sessions and nutritional counseling, and tasks to be completed in the upcoming period are discussed several times during the personal trainer consultations. During the program, SET specialists monitor training performance remotely with the help of a polar heart rate belt, which also provides great assistance in additional training planning.
