Despite finishing fourth, Ogier finished the Central European Rally in a positive mood

Sébastien Ogier wanted to at least stand on the podium in the Central European Rally, but that became impossible due to a flat tire. In the end, the eight-time world champion finished fourth and was able to finish the race in a positive mood.

Sébastien Ogier wanted to at least get on the podium in the new World Rally Championship, the Central European Rally, but he suffered a flat tire on the first stage on Friday, causing him to lose motivation. Finally, in the drier conditions of the second half of the race, he was able to drive more confidently and finished fourth.

“The whole race was very difficult for me, because my starting position on Friday was not good because of the rain, and after the puncture it was difficult for me to stay motivated,” Sébastien Ogier told the official WRC website after the race. – I wasn’t able to show my best form in this competition, even though I was already more confident on the drier tracks. I managed to win some stages, so at least I was able to finish the race in a positive mood. “I’m really looking forward to Rally Japan, as I want to end the season with a win.”

According to the eight-time world champion, Kalle Rovanperä and John Halttunen deserved their second World Cup title, which they won in the German, Czech and Austrian competitions.

“Congratulations to Callie and John on their World Cup titles. They have finished another fantastic season and I’m sure this will not be their last World Cup title. However, I feel sorry for Elfyn Evans because they have done very well this year.”
