Diablo 2 Resurrected started today and after being able to play for about 2 hours the game unfortunately started and I wasn’t the only one who couldn’t get back into the game.
So today was the day the armies of hell were resurrected and PCs all over the world were logged into Battle.Net to enjoy the remastered version of Diablo 2. Our game description would come out these days, but we had a little problem while playing it. Playing offline is great, everything, but running around Sanctuary with my friends is more fun, with more monsters and loot, as well as more fun.
So around 5pm here in the UK and game over, I played for an hour or two with a newly created online character (necromancer – because summoning skeletons to do my job is so much fun). While I was playing the game I suddenly quit and thought my wifi was not working or my service provider was having problems.
It turned out, unfortunately, that there was nothing, but the servers of Diablo 2 Resurrected were simply dead and there were problems. It was still possible to play offline now, but the offline character couldn’t be ported to the online version, so I had to wait, like most people.
Here are some interesting moments from that period:
very funny Tweet embed You are having server problems. I thought we were supposed to use the New Age Battle Grid but maybe the Ancient Battle Grid was more stable? Tweet embed

Very sad when the 37-year-old Commodore 64 performs better than the 2021 Blizzard servers. pic.twitter.com/o7JJ2iG9vV

Blizzard apologizes for the problems and works on it. The servers seem to be back, but who knows if they won’t stop working again during the busy startup.
Diablo 2 Resurrected is available for purchase on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
