The smaller 14-inch (35.56 cm) M4 MacBook Pro has also been leaked. On Reddit, Yunseok-12 shared an image of what he found on Google Image Search, showing that you can add more memory to the basic model. The link looks genuine, and already in the image below we can see that there is information from the Apple website. In other words, the company itself spoke too harshly.
So we get a 10-core CPU and GPU, and the storage capacity can go up to 512GB or 1TB. However, there are a few options for memory: you can order 16GB or even 28GB in the laptop. So, by default, the device has 16 GB of RAM, although it was Apple that defended with all its might that 8 GB of RAM was enough due to better memory management. So you don't…? The answer is probably in the subtitle: “Designed for Apple intelligence.” So, while 16GB of RAM is the minimum in Windows 11 due to Copilot, Apple's AI may have forced the company to expand memory here.
There's no point in trying to type the link now, because Apple noticed the error too, while redirecting to M3 laptops. Anyway, in addition to the 10-core CPU and GPU, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage is exactly the configuration that landed in the hands of some Russian YouTubers. Based on our Geekbench 6 tests, the laptop scores better than the M4 iPad Pro in terms of single-core and multi-core scores (even though it has the same SoC, i.e. the system chip).
The 14-inch MacBooks M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max are available in silver and space gray, while the 16-inch models are only available in space black. That's why it's not stupid to write in space gray for the M4. The announcement will likely be made on November 1.
